Managing complex IT transformations

Four practice-based modules for CIOs, IT managers, and portfolio/program leadership — open enrollment or in-house. The four modules can be booked individually and are designed to stand alone. Together, they form a complete curriculum. All modules are designed for in-person delivery.

Executive Education Program

ANALYZE: AI-assisted strategy and portfolio analysis: the human leads and decides
PRIORITIZE: IT portfolio under budget pressure: focusing investments, setting priorities
LEAD: Lateral leadership in IT programs: steering without formal authority
STABILIZE: Transformation programs in crisis: identifying causes and correcting course

Didactics: methods, practice, decision situations, and transfer

About two-thirds of the time, participants work actively: on a continuous case, in assigned roles, and on their own initiative. Methods are applied directly and defended before another group. Each module delivers concrete tools and realistic decision situations. At the close, participants define next steps for their own program. 

A protected setting: groups of 10 to 15 create the basis for open, confidential discussion of critical initiatives. No recordings are made.

Expertise and differentiation

Technical expertise meets management competence. 30 years of experience in IT and transformation, including as Director Engineering at Siemens. Dipl.-Ing. in Communications Engineering, Kellogg-WHU Executive MBA, and PhD in Management; complemented by PMP, PSM, CCNA, and ITIL.

Author and originator. Design, materials, and delivery from a single source (no licensed curriculum).

Current and up to date. The IT Alignment Guide V2 and Strategic Analysis in Practice, with the ALIGN method, form the professional foundation. Both publications are made available to participants.

Academically grounded. Nine peer-reviewed publications on IT strategy, IT value, business-IT alignment, and IT architecture, six of them affiliated with WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management.
